Yona beach club: a floating experience

A floating beach club in Phuket is a must‑see, and Yona Beach Club is more than a beach club — it’s an experience. One perk of being a woman and a solo traveler is their Ladies Pass: $60 USD / 2000 baht, which includes two free drinks. Since I went on a Sunday, the vibe was very DJ‑forward and party‑leaning. Entry didn’t start until 5 PM, and the pools closed for swimming at 7 PM. I’ll be honest — I was a little nervous about going after having a horrible experience at a beach club in Bangkok the day before.

But let me tell you how this night went.

Picture this: you pull up to Yona’s private pier, check in with the sweetest staff, and hop on a ferry that takes you to — yes — a floating beach club. The energy was instantly good. Live DJ, attentive bartenders, a dance floor in the center, pools facing the sunset, and just overall great vibes.

I arrived fully intending not to stay long. I’m not a wild party girl, so my plan was simple: enjoy the sunset, dance a little, sip my two free drinks, and go home. But as I walked around soaking in the atmosphere, I ended up meeting a guy who was also there solo — a real‑life Mufasa look‑alike, if I do say so myself. We talked the rest of the night, danced, and watched the sunset together.

This place is also perfect for photos. The backdrop of Phuket with the sun setting behind you? Stunning.

After I did everything I came for, I caught the ferry back to the mainland, grabbed dinner and a nightcap, and called it a night.

This is absolutely a ‘DO’ and Liv‑a‑Little approved when visiting Phuket.
