Cocktail Bars I Loved

To know me is to know I love a good dirty martini. I will search high and low for that perfect speakeasy vibe or a bar curated to making the best cocktails. I’m always on the hunt for cocktail bars with ambiance, good music, and bartenders who take their craft seriously. Here are a few spots I visited in Bangkok that I would 100% recommend if you’re a cocktail girlie like me. This post is exclusive to finding that bar that’s for you.

Liv‑a‑Little Approved:

  1. Tacua bar

Night one I was excited to head to a bar that so many people said you had to visit. It gives you the perfect skyline views, a live dj, a super cool light up tree— thingy? I don’t know what to call it, but see for yourself below. The dj was playing some pretty good mix of music, of course mostly oontz oontz music that I call it. Pretty good mix of different kinds of people. I would say this is a ‘DO’ visit on your trip. However, if you don’t make it. No big deal.

  1. The Rabbit hole

I got the recommendation for this bar via google. What an absolute vibe I found. Between the ambience, the lowkey setting perfect for you and that sneaky link, the bartenders, the live dj, the cocktails. Also, the random free shots?!

This is definitely a ‘DO’ on your trip.

  1. Lost in Thaislation

I was looking for another quiet spot to go to after leaving the Tacua bar. I simply googled “cocktail bars near me” and this gem popped up. Nestled in an alley behind a local Thai restaurant, this local cocktail bar was so neat. Between sitting and talking with both the bartender AND the owner. The owner let me know that her concept of the bar is to turn foods into cocktails; and her restaurant- located upstairs- is to turn cocktails into recipes.

Solo traveling always gives me the ability to meet new people from all walks of life. I love to sit and listen to everyone’s stories. I would so recommend this cocktail bar to anyone.

This is definitely a ‘DO’ on your trip.

A mango sticky rice cocktail?! Yes please.

  1. Alzuri lounge

Last, but definitely not least, was this Black‑owned lounge in Bangkok — Alzuri Lounge. It’s a newer restaurant/lounge created by a pair of expats, and let me tell you… they are bringing the Black vibes straight to Thailand. Between the curated Southern‑inspired food on the menu, the delicious cocktails, and the overall energy, this place felt like a warm hug from home.

The décor was everything — modern, moody, intentional. Even the bathrooms had personality. Each stall featured a different Black artist, which added such a thoughtful spark to the space. And the live DJ? Playing hip‑hop and R&B all night long. I was vibing from the moment I walked in until the moment I left.

This spot felt like community, culture, and comfort all wrapped into one.

This is definitely a ‘DO’ on your trip.

Overall:

Bangkok’s cocktail scene truly understood the assignment. From rooftop views to hidden lounges to Black‑owned gems that felt like home, every spot brought its own flavor — literally and figuratively. I came for dirty martinis and a vibe, and Bangkok delivered both with ease. What I loved most was how each bar gave me something different: a skyline moment here, a DJ set there, a cozy speakeasy energy somewhere else. As a solo traveler who’s retired from the club scene but still loves a good night out, these bars were the perfect mix of safe, stylish, and social.

If you’re heading to Bangkok and want to sip, vibe, and stay in your grown‑woman era, these cocktail bars will treat you right.
